All That Coffee

I brought you a water bottle… or do you prefer a coffee?

No, no, I’m good with water. Just came from work where I had 3 or 4 coffee cups and I really can’t take anymore. It was a very stressful day but somehow, the minute I get here I don’t care about it anymore, this place just makes me feel happier.

Yeah, it has this effect on people, even when it doesn’t look that amazing and with the horrible sounds coming in from the adjacent recording room.

What the hell is this??? Is sounds like somebody’s is torturing a cat in there, maybe even a pack of cats.

Yeah, welcome to my neighbourhood; there are so many recording and rehearsing studies around here and I had to choose the one that is sharing a wall with a “cult-master”. I’m having the studio here for almost a year now, and I really can’t say that even once I heard decent music coming out of that room. But we will just make our music louder and we can continue…

I’ve been meaning to ask you; is there a reason you don’t sit down? I mean, during most of the sessions we have you seems to stand most of time. I don’t have anybody else coming to my sessions stand up as much as you do.

It made me laugh. No, it’s fine, it’s just that I really feel the music better that way, I want to get into the mood, and it helps me with the process to just stand and go around the room. Does it bother you?

No, I thought it bothers you….

But this is how you make music, no? well it’s my first album recording, but apart from the fact that it is super exciting, I don’t see how you can make music just sitting down. We recorded already all 11 demoes of the songs, and we now working on each one of them, having the drums, bass, basic rhythm, seeing ideas forming into a fuller, better complete product, trying lots of new sounds, it makes feel really anxious, in a good way I mean. I cannot sit down even a second. It just means so much to me and I want to feel each and every note of the music.

Again, maybe when I’ll record my 3rd of 4th album one day, I will be less excited about it, as it will become more like work and less like passion, not that I really want to feel like that, but yeah… you have to be fully into it and get it into your systems, ruching your blood and make it count. Plus, all that coffee I drank at work starting to press my bladder a bit.
